Description
Teaching students to annotate and closely read for comprehension becomes easier when they know exactly what to look for in a passage. This assessment that is ready-made and customizable, this resource is perfect for you! Simply edit as you’d like, share the link and have your students complete the Google form. The short responses will be simple to grade because I’ve included model answers. A PRINTABLE version is also included!
Everything you need to assess is included. There are two engaging short stories by Saki, with 10 questions for each, as well as an answer key. You can separate the stories and use this as a pretest and a post-test or you can give them at once.
✅ NOTE: This test is included in this time-saving, step-by-step resource: Close Reading: PowerPoint, Notes, Worksheets, Test Print & DISTANCE LEARNING
Students will read the passages first. I’ve included a link to the passages on Google Slides so that students can annotate. The test questions include questions on the setting, characters, conflict, vocabulary words, and figurative language. To be clear, students will answer some of the questions differently, because every reader brings a different understanding to the text.
ALL of the questions are customizable!* That’s right. If you want to change the terminology, you can edit the questions to your heart’s desire, even on the print version. 🙂
This is simple to use and ready to go. Answers and point values are already set up in the form.
Use the printable version or the Google form version. BOTH are customizable.*
* Please note: The questions are customizable; however, the reading passages and images are not. This is to protect the work of the authors and artists.
