The story is paired with an article about the waste generated during the holiday season and a video about holiday recycling. This rigorous unit includes guided practice on how to closely read a complex text, as well as how to answer multiple choice, short response, and extended response questions. Each text evidence response is preceded by a graphic organizer that will help students organize their ideas. The internet activity serves as a great culminating activity that will allow students to synthesize all of the information they’ve learned.
