Description
This mindfulness journal provides an ideal way to start class, or it can be used any time students need to be refocused. Introducing young people to mindfulness — in which the brain is relaxed but focused — can provide them with a lifetime of mind and body benefits on several different levels. Research has found that mindfulness promotes
~ lower stress levels
~ improved concentration
~ increased self-control
~ enhanced ability to relate to others with kindness
Best yet, you don’t have to be an expert on mindfulness! In fact, learning with students is a wonderful way to show them that we are all lifelong learners. It is only through practice that we can direct our thoughts into positive directions and imagine new possibilities.
Students will complete 30 prompts. They will practice techniques for calming themselves, finding focus, and promoting their own joy. They will write about gratitude, happiness, acts of kindness, positive and negative feelings, and nature.
